Dan Ariely
Professor of Psychology & Behavioral Economics
Dan Ariely is on the Bloomberg 50 list of world’s most influential contemporary thinkers. He is a Professor of Behavioral Economics at Duke University, scientific researcher, speaker and bestselling author of Irrationally Yours, Predictably Irrational, The Upside of Irrationality and The (Honest) Truth About Dishonesty.
In 2010 he co-founded Beworks, the first consulting firm that applies behavioral science in developing marketing strategies. In 2012, Dan Ariely co-founded Timeful, the company that was reinventing time management for people, which was acquired by Google in 2015.
He holds a permanent column called Ask Ariely in the Wall-Street Journal, where he gives weekly answers to the reader’s economical curiosities and professional dilemmas.
Dan became passionate about the decision-making process after a traumatic experience as a teenager, when he went through a long period of recovery in the burns intensive care unit. He had had the chance to observe how people around him had the tendency to make wrong decisions and persist in them, so he had decided that this is a subject he wanted to dedicate himself to. The scientific researches that he has been carrying out since then confirm the fact that, in all the aspects of their lives, humans make more irrational decisions than they are willing to accept they do.
Dan Ariely will be present for the first time in Romania at GPeC SUMMIT Online on 3rd of November 2020. #DoNotMiss #CraftedToInspire
